(By Telcsraph.—Press Association.). . \ ■">. ■ Napier, January 27.. ...The annual ram fair, under the ' auspices of the Hawke's Hay Agricultural and 'Pastoral , Society, was opened'on the ; Hastings showground; to-day, anil trill'..be continued ;to-morrow.'. Tho . entries are about 300 less than was the case . Inst year; and,' so far, ;no "big : prices have been realised.:, The top ligriro for flock Lincoln ram .was G ■ guineas, which' was. paid for each of--three shearlings bred by Mr.; H. Wybourne, of, :Whenuakura, and the same breeder topped the market in stud Lincolns, with 55■guineas for a shearling; Some -Shropshire'- Down, Komney Marsh, and Southdown rams were/also offered, and, in a number :of cases, fair prices . were realised, but, in. many eases, lots "did not reach reserves, a'ud' liad to bo passed in. In all: classes, there were.some good lines, ; but .also some inferior sorts. Prices were, in" favour of. buyers, o£ whom ; tiiurc was a fair attendance. ' . , -.
