Wellington on, tiro • previous occasions, but' .it' surely/ neveri.went.with, sttch a swing! as on; Saturday, evening , when 'produced before a largo audience; that was', tickled into : continuous laughter ,;by,the ;;even 'stream- of . delicious . nonsensicality that bubbles along so briskly for'a couple of hours. , Mr. Thos. Kingston is' fitted •to a nicety..'.inroleof the apparently; irresponsible "Monty" Brewster, infusing a reckless dash and an .inconsequence; of, action' into the part, that was a leading .factor iii;,ithe success; of Athe .performance.'.Buoyancy, dejection,' .'despair, : ela-, tionj i'and earnestness'had., all., to; 'be '.de/ picted.i -with' 'kinematograph:,-.speed,; but. never was tho actor • found lvanting;',.'As .Margaret' Grey,' the' girl' Monty; is v'enamoured of, Miss Calvin was .avsweet.;re-; 'fined creature, •n-hoso. acting 'was ; invested with a /quiet charm ' altogether ; pleasing. Miss Etlicl Warwick' appeared'as': Mrs; Dan de cMille, and' made that person a lady of cheerful habit and easy grace. As Janice Armstrong, Miss Emma Temple exhibited. a trick :of genial comedy which served ■■ as a. kindly remembrancer of many excellent performances in other days:" . Monty's friends were : capably 'impersonated "by Messrs. Harry, I'limmcr, Gregan M'Mahon, • Cyril Mackay, A;.'.'E/ Greenaway, L.' Harding, and 'T. W.' Lloyd, and. excellent : character sketches were presented; by. Mr. Eardley Turner as Colonel'.- Drew,' Mr. Eedge.: Carey as. Monsieur Bargie,.' and ' Miss Harvey ;as Monty's typiste. As previously .mentioned, the comedy, is perfectly produced. The feature,' however, is' the beautiful and ingenious: yacht scene of .the, third act, which presents with wonderful detail the' deck ' of a pleasure, yacht v. at anchor, with the'.rays of . a lighthouse flashing at regular/intervals in the gloom !beyond.'; ; In tho course of the action of the! play a galej springs up, the anchor is weighed,: orders are given, hoarsely,, biro.-" footed, I ,oil-skinned: seamen- busy ■ themselves with'the lines, and 1 the;yacht rolls and .heaves realistically enough to engender mal de mer among the. audience. The scene is a triumph of. stage, management,, and on Saturday, evening' arousbdthe audience to a . high pitch of enthusiasm.. .- ' "Brewster's Millions" will 1 be. played v to-night and to-morrow night. On Wednesday. it will make way ,fqr a'revival of "Sherlock Holmes,". -/, with • Mr-' .*',Thos. Kingston as 1 -. Sherlock, Mr. Plimmer as James Larnbee, and Mr.. M'Mahon as f.toriarty, / "-'
