MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
; ■ :■■ ''■ ■ —— 4r-;';';; .• ■.-. An enjoyable concert ■ was provided by Mr. and Mrs. G*" P. Powles at the Missions to Seamen Institute last oven ing, before a large audience. Mr. James Moore, the niissioneT, occupied the ohair. The following' contributed items to" the ' programme:—Misses ■'/' Wopllett, Luke, Powles, Messrs. Galloway and Bennington. Miss Powles presided at the piano. Several popular choruses were sung by the audience, and an amusing conundrum competition was won by sailors from, ships in port. During a short"interval, , the missioner delivered an earnest temperance address, resulting in seven men talcing the pledge. The performers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion, and light refreshments were dispensed.
