DROWNED WHILE BATHING.

Vincent Maloncy, aged 18, was drowned at Karaka Beach, near Pukekohe, yesterday 4. party of young men wont to tho beach for fishing, and Maloney and John Best went in to batho. Maloney got into the channel, which is narrow, bat eight feet deep. He was a poor swimmer, and was soon in difficulties. Best went to his assistance, but was pulled under, hnving great difficulty in saving himself. Maloney s body was found an hour'later. Ho was the son of a widow living at Puni.
