~ \ sailing.; . . On Saturday aftornoon tluj To Aro Sailing Club hold a/race for a tropliy presented by Mr. Fred. Cooke. The following were tlio handicaps:—ltamWor (sor.), Ishmael (omin.), Red Wing (smin.), 'Lotus (51min.), Eival (7min.), Doreen (10mm.), "Winifred (llmin.).> The Lotus took the lead from the start,'.and held ;it all round the course, finishing at s.lGj>.m.', with Bed Wing second at 5.29 p.m., and Eival third at 5.37 p.m. ' Rambler finished at p.m., Winifred and Ishmael finishing together at 5:11 p.m. The Doreen retired after going round the course once.
•SWIMMING. ■ At the Te Aro Baths on Saturday the Wei-, ling Swimming Club held a hundred yajds swimming race. The following were the handicaps:—Ashford (scr.); Murrell (7sec.), Stratford (Bsec.), Evenson (8 sec.), Jl'Gregor (14sec.), and Dalaney, (lflsec.). The race resulted in a win for R. Evenson, with Stratford'second, and Slur.rell third; Tie time for the distance was 76sec.
. '.ROWING. ' ; The Kempthorne Fours were rowed off by Wellington Club, crews on - Saturday with results as follow:— . ' First heat—Jackson, Klee, Whincop, and Bodly defeated S. Shilling, Sullivan, Shaw, and. Jlathieson. ' Second heat—W. Shilling, Redding, Hannan, and Hall defeated Furness, Hincliliire, Gordon, and Plavor. Third heat—P. Davey, Stewart, Cairns, and Park defeated'll. M'Kinley, Barry, Wilson, and Hodson.' ■ Semi-final—W. Shilling's crew defeated.Jackson's. ■ Final—l'. Davoy's crew defeated W. Shilling's. ....
