A DISSATISFIED PARTY.
'The dissatisfaction and dissontion Iα th< ranks of the Liberal party, which were revealec it the caucus held lust Tuesday, are etiU active It cannot-bo denied, a" Government membei admitted to one of our representatives, tha the members of the Opposition set an examplt of camaraderie, cohesion, and loyalty to thi othor side of the House. A few years agi those qualities were oonspiouous among thi Government's following, but recently, it is felt they have not beon encouraged. There is sait to be a widespread opinion amongst members ex-membeis, and many people who have beei strong supporters of the Liberal Government ii the past, that tlio Prime Minister prefers ti bestow his favours upon now friends., who hav. not had tho same association with the party Tho suggestion tlirtt the Hon. T. Maokonzii will be appointed High. Commissioner, if thi Hon. W. Hall-Jonos,'as ia considered likely vacates that position in a few months' time, i evidently considered very pi-obablo by tho mem bers of tho party, who arc not at all plensei by the prospect. Thoy state that tho Prim Minister has already given the party a bitte pill to swallow in promoting Jlr. Mackenzie above older members of the party, to Minlstci ial rank, and if Mr. -Mackenzie is again pre ferrod for the important office of the Hie" Commissioncrship, it will bo difficult foT Si Joseph Ward to placate the feelings of hi older supporters.
