MATCHES ATTRENTHAM. '■'• GOOD MUSTER OF MARKSMEN. . Over 300 marksmen went out to the range at Trentham on Saturday afternoon. The weather conditions, though tricky at 600 yards, were fairly good, from the rifleman's .point of view, , and. somo excellent scores were recorded,'as will be seen from the details appended; Several'of tyo companies concluded the first series of their trophy matches. Strang-' crs to the range were some members of the Upper Hutt Rifle Club, who'fired a match on tho Seddon Range, at the long distances. The following are the details of the parade state':— Engineers, 22; Guards, 23; Civil Service Rifles, 24: Post and Telegraph Rifles, 32; Highland Rifles, 25; Karori Rifle Club, 32; Scouts, 18; Heretaunga Mounted Rifles, 4; Kolburne Rifles, 12; Zealandia Rifles, 33; Hutt Valley Rifles, 22; Victoria College 0.T.C., 22; Permanent Force Rifle Club, 7; City Rifles, 20; Upper Hutt Rifle Club, 10; total, 315. Range duties were carried out by the Post and Telegraph- Rifles, Lieutenants Bolton and Beamish, subaltern officers of the.oorps, acting as range officers. Staff Sergeant-Major Rose was trench officer.
