A shooting, matoh for the Fresh Food and Ice Company's challenge ' cup took place at Levin' on Saturday, when-tho Hautere Rifle ; Club, who were the .challengers', succeeded in wresting, the trophy, from the Levin Club, winning the match l>y 21 points. The conditions were ten'shots'each.at-500 and COO yards. The ■weather was!favoura.ble for good shooting, alIthough towards the'close of the match the wind caused a little trouble. Captain E. O. Smith, Levin, 'superintended the, arrangements for lunch -and .'afternoon" tea. At the close, Captain Smith stated' that, while his'team were: naturally . sorry to', lose .the cup,: still there' Was' no other club on the coast' to whose custody it, would give his men'more pleasure to "hand: it'over .than to the winners.
