Portions of I'itzherberf Swamp Road, in WainUi-o-Mata, were in very badi state, the cause of this being.the narrow formation. Ar-' rangements had been made with sottlers whoso properties abut on the easterii side to clear Rorse.and dig a ditch. All except one settlor had, carried out their portion oi. this arrangement, and-if that settler were compelled to carry out his portion: of .the-contract a good road could bo formed.
