M, Gilbert, a Frenchman, travelled in an airship (dirigible balloon) from 'Odessa to Rumania, a distance of 250 miles, m 9J hours. [Mr. Farman has considerably improved on the 112 milos flight with which he won the Grand Pnx at Rheims. But his latest flight of 144 miles does not come, near tho American aeroplane flight that was recorded in the following cablegram of October 16.— A. H. Forbes,': an American aeronaut,-.has niado an astonishingly successful flight m his aeroplane. He travelled from St. Louis, the capital of Missouri, to Richmond, in Virginia, in 19J hours.
