BOROUGH STATUS Or ARAMOHO. ' (By TeleerAph-Special Corrapondent) Wanganui, Octobor 27. A meeting was held at Aramoho last night for tho purpose of arnving at a decision re. rug tho local government of that suburb, meeting throw out a proposal to form a separate borough in an emphatic manner, the temper of the meeting being strongly in favour of amalgamation with Wanganui It was decided to inform the Minister for Internal Affairs that tho proposal to form a separate borough had been rejected, and a petition would shortly be forwarded to him signed by tho majority of residents in favour of amalgamation; i Five bookmakers wero fined in tho S.M. Court this £5 and costs each for fr&juontins,i|the,,|fitreots for tho purpose of boning In another case judgment was rororved Tho informations wcro laid under tho borough by-laws and not mnder tho Gaming Act, A meoting of CasOecliff ratepayers was held last night to discuss tramway proposals. Those present appeared to be strongly in favour of an elected system. A poll on tho question takes place to-morrow.
