STANDS SCOTLAND WHERE IT DID.
Sir,—ln. your issuo of October sis a short report' of an ' interview' with Mr. 'R. Allan, J.P., of Edinburgh, in which; ho expresses the opinion; that reciprocity between " England/', and tho whole of the British colonies is within measurable distance and that in tho future an "English" Parliament will havo representatives from tho colonies'. I was always ,of opinion that England was'only a part of the United Kingdom. • Ha's. Scotland and Ireland representatives in the present English Parliament, .or is tho British Parliament an' institution lot-! tho past? There is somo time 6ince I "left. Groat Britain, 1 and changes may i have taken place. Has Scotland and • Ireland any say in the ; destiny of the Empire or is their national' feeling dead?, In my. time Scotland had ;laws and: judges' of its .own. There was also: a national church. I,shall be glad to, know if, Scotland;,is now simply a province, or a "county of, England, and also' if it is' the rule in Scotland. to speak of ,tho; English .king, army and navy,, .colonies, 1 eta, 1 or are Sootland and Ireland simply colonies nf England? Information on these matters will greatly oblige : ■■'.! . V .- SCOTS WHA HAE. Oitober 5, 1909. ,
