It was.'practically a be'rnialine loaf,'and it is exempt under tho Act. It is the only one that was not. proper weight in tho cart. I cannot stand these prosecutions, and have given up business. It is impossible for any baker to turn out a batch-of bread that is of .absolutely, correct,, weight. This is the lust straw. I have been an employer for the •last twenty years, and have paid JtlS and'.£l9 a week in wages. 'I'have tried to hold my head up, and do my duty to my fellow citizens, •and a prosecution of this sort comes'very hard on, me:-I pleaded with tho inspector not to take.that thread, .as it, was exempt- It tains special flour, which I practically mill myself.; The ingredients are threo in number, but they are trade secrete. . ,'; . .:■'■> ':• The magistrate imposed a fine of 20s.,and costs.- 1 ■•'■■
