Eose, refused payment, and singing.. On being pressed for payment, ho, drew a revolver and pulled tho triggor in the barber's face. Fortunately, tho weapon was not loaded. Eoso then drew and-flourished a sheath knife above his bead. The , hairdresser sought refuge through a back door, and'talled the 1 police sergeant in. ' The. sergeant epoko to Eose,'and the latter becahie abusive.HHre r asked the officer if ha wanted n "bash in the;ja.w." T ne eergeant'e reply was to lay the man in the gutter and relieve him of the knife, revolver, and a box of cartridges. '■■'''■. .-.-■ ■■■;. . At the Police Court this morning, Eose was charged with being awnk and:using threaten-' ing behaviour. The police 6tated that Rose wa3 a "new chum," who evidently thoußhi, New Zealanders were barbarians. Defendant said he broushl tho revolver in for repairs; He did not ]«meraber committing, the offence he was charged with. Ifr. Loughnan, S.M;, considered the oßenco a 6crious one, and fined defendant £2 and costs. .-.> -,' •.
