Tho lecturo ia being given by tho special request of the local officers.

Opie, the director, has received entries from Napier, Kimbbltbn, and Foildingi as well as from local aspir'anta. A team from the Technical School, consisting of Messrs: J. C. Young and R. H. Billcns, will'contest an impromptu debate', with Messrs. Whittaker and Scanlon, of. tho Catholic Young Men's Club. For the oration competition 'Messrs. ;,.A. V. Burnard, J. Young, K. Cobb.L.'HMlon, B, H. Billcns, «nd Tuly are.tho competitors. The.various sections of the recitation competitions havo also received good entries as follow:—Humorous;i Messrs. Pliver, Cs Smith, Paqualin, ;MisEC3 Tonlu, Pole, Barker, and Mesdames Stahton and' Gilchrist. Dramatic and ■descriptive: Messrs. Paqualin, Scanlon, A'erry, Pole, Misses .Mailman,.
