A PONY-OWNER'S GRIEVANCE.

' ; ;.-'' ':'/■■'' '' ■ Sir,—On. behalf of' tho owners racing ponies ?J Mirninar, I;wish to draw the attention of tho; Wellington Pony,;;, and, Galloway Racine Club Committee to tho breach of faith existing regarding, repeated promises of the aid club to increase the stales. But I see by the programme for the October meeting the selfsame old state;of affairs.:' . Now, ■I. wish to draw your "attention 'to , aomo figures, whioh speak for themselves, and arc as near tho mark as possible, and which will show that owners are racing for a sweepstake of their own, without any added money. • It is a.well-known fact that an owner under the existing stato of affairs .would require to .win a race at oach mooting to even pay expenses, whereas if decent itakes were provided it would produce better' racing, -and a better lot of pomes, and there would not bo the same amount ■of inconsistent running, which the said club-wishes to proveut. Tho owners of ponies provide sinews'of-war at great expense, and nresureh on titled to somo consideration, which if denied before uominntions close will htivo to tnko the matter in their own hands.
