At drawing of stumps the Marylebono team,' whioh scored 188 in the first innings, had hit up 105 without losing a wicket,' Foster and Tarrant being unbeaten. Noble (63) arid Ransford (50) continued tho Australians' first innings. Before any addition was made to the overnight soore No'blo was taken at the wickets by Moon, , off Llewellyn. His innings was a brilliant allround one. Two for 118.
Truraper joined Ransford. Both playeiJ fro©, vigorous circket, and the score mounted rapidly. Ransford, indulging in leg-hitting, roaohed hie century in_ 180 minutes. A separation came just before luncheon, Trumpor at 80 playing Fielder on. Ho gavo a chance off Buckcnham before Ecoring, but afterwards shaded good all-round form. AUSTRALIAN AVERAGES-BUCKENHAM'S SUCCESS. ■ The first innings' , score of the Australians is the sixth total that has paßscd the fourth century of the present tour. V. Hansford has beaten his Kent contribution by one run, and his latest achievement is his highest score of the Ransford at present displaces B&rdsloy for socond place in the .nveragos. The Victorian's figures run out nt a shado over 48 runs per innings, and tho AValsr's slightly in excess of 45. W. W. Armstrong still maintains his lead with nn'averngo of 49.32. Buckonham; of Essex, has come out of tho ordenl with creditable figures. He will appear at Loyton to-day for his county ngninst the Alls, tralians, 'who, outsido of Eansford, Trmnper, nnd Noble," have not worried tho scorers to any largo extent at Lords. It. K. Foster nnd Tarrnnt have opened on tho ■big side for M.C.C., but the olub is still in a minority of HI, which is a large deficit to make up on the third day. ... . ■
