Triggs, Conciliation Commissioner, met ihe South Canterbury' millc-wners 1 and workers' representatives here to-day in re'gard to matters in dispute,.. and aiter a conference agreement was arrived at on all matters submitted to the commissioner. ■■•' The workers asked for , the hour system, but agreed that it be, optional on either side to have the contract or hour system. A shilling an hour .wae agreed to, as against' a shilling ■ and fouiid as asked for. Piecework rateS , for ordinary workers wefo fixed at 12s. per thousand bushels wheat or barley, and IQs. for oate. , , No threshiig out of atook is to be allowed, and the grain must be stacked. A shilling an hour is to be allowed when shifting a mill from stack to stack. A week's .notice is to be given on cithoT side, or a.week'E pay to be forfeited, same to go to. tho store, fund.
