After a. discussion ".the. uuion, by a majority of'twelve, 1 , endorsed the action taken by-its delegates at the conference.- ■ . It will be remembered that the delegatee named questioned the right Dr M*Laren (organising 1 secretary-' of the fedetation,' and seoretary of. the local union), to vote, ;on whioh point- an:acrimonious' disoussion'' turned. The' chairman' ruled that- Mr. M'Ltasni'was entitled to vote on the ground': he olailned (that,' a 'delegate, ex officio).' Subsequently,' 'liter the conforenoo had. sat in oommittee, the, chairman reported the following resolution; —. . That this, conference ask- Mr., M'Cann and -Mr. Jones to retire,' on' the-'ground v, that they; have obstructed the. business, .misrepresented their'union, and are,injur: ing tho interests of our .federation," y. * This, he said, had been passed'without a dis-. sentient' voto. As . tho result, Messrs. M'Caim 'and Jones retired fronl - tlie • conference.:'' ..
