Slice thinly 2 turnips; 2 carrots, and 2 onions Brown thorn slightly in a broadbottomed stotvpan, with 2oz. butter or dripping, shaking m a littlo flour, and stirring to prevent it from, browning too quickly. Cut small short chops from a cold roast loin or neck, free them from fat. and fry them brown on each side'in' the sain© 'butter. Then pour in as, much stock as may bo required, about half a pint. Season with pepper. Stew very gently until tho vegetables are tender. Arrange the meat in a circle, put tho vegetables in tho ' centre with, the sauce over all. FOB TO-MOEEOW. Log of mutton, onions,, apples, Jib. suet. ■
