VALEDICTORY PRESENTATIONS. ' Caplain' Andrew. ' Anderson, who . .has been shore captain for the Union Company at Wellington for several .years, and has 'now been promoted to bo.-local marine superintendent'at bydney, was made a presentation yesterday by the departmental heads of the Harbour Board. The presentation - was made by the board's secretary, Mr. EJ- Nicholls, who,'-paid a warm tnbut« to Captain Anderson, sayins he was whom they .'could all get on without friotion, and whilst striving to da well for Ins employers had always acted fairly to tbe company s employees. He wished him every prosperity and'good fortune . in ' the sphere to which he had been, called. Captain Anderson expressed; his. thanks :and appreciation of the-kindly.feelings which had prompted j the presentation and the good wishes which had been.tendered him. He had always found the: board's most obliging, and their, good wishes for-his'future career would be. valued by. him.' •...CfPW 1 ! Johnston, harbourmaster, stated that dunng ,the ■ whole time that he and his staif had been in contact with Captain Anderson there had been nothing-but good' feeling and .harmony between them. ' , The presentation .consisted of a gold sovereign case and. a travelling rug,' ' .Captain Anderson was also the recipient of a handsome travelling bag from the. staffs of the Union Company s local offic© and yards.- Mr w. A. Kennedy, manager, in making the, prel sentafaon ..referred in commendatory terms to Captain-Anderson's long connection. with the company. Captain Anderson suitably .'replied.
