FATAL TRAM ACCIDENT.
. £700 DAMAGES AWARDED. ■ (By Telegraphs-Press Association.) Auckland, August ,11. A claim ' for £1000 damages against the Auckland Tramway Company, arising out of the death of Mrs. Annie Horsnell, of Christchurch, through being thrown or falling off a tramcar at Onehunga, on June 15, was heard in the Supreme Court to-day. The jury found for plaintiff, and awarded £700 damages. Leave was granted to Mr. .Reed, on behalf of the tramway company, to move for a new trial on the ground that the damiages were excessive.
