Auckland has now developed an attack of "aerolitis," as tie' seeing of-, mysterious lights is .formed, and. many residents of Mounit Roskill district last night were startled by the. appearance of two , hrightly-iEnimma-ted bodies overhead. The objects soared upwards,.and then drifted over OneJmnga to-wards-Otahuhu, burning rod, blue, and green lights alternately.- Various conjec'tpics were indulged.in,...but. inquiries made it clear -fcba.t this was no-tHiing more formidable than fire balloons, • which have been selling rather freely lately, particularly those of the prismatic class, which bum blue, green, and red lights alternately., Later in. the evening, people gathered on the wharves and gazed, at tie planet Mars, " only 40,000,000 miles away.'
