4 WELLINGTON EAST CLUB FORMED. A start was rrtado last night in tho direction of forming tho first of the district cricket clubs, which will succeed tho old club systom during the coming season. Wellington.Easfc'ls the first district to get under way, about 40 persons attending tlio meeting, which was presided ever by Mr. T. H, Wilson, ono of the representatives of the Cricket Association, Tho chairman outlined the position that had to be faftod since the- district scheme had been decidod on, and tho meeting proceeded to elect officers, after having decided to form' a Wellington East District Club, lit. J. Pearco was elected ""hon, secretary, pro tern, and the following wore appointed a i'rovisional Committee: Messrs. J. Mahoney, W. A. Worth, A. Edwards, S, Wills, and \V. Gibbes. x Messrs. W. A. Worth and A. Ectwardß werq elected delegates to tho Cricket Association. * < s It was decided to suggest dark blue and silver,as tho colours of, the club. Tho chairman asked that members intending to join the club should send in their names to the secretary. Tho committee was iristrUoted to brjng down a report on tho matter of material, subscriptions, 'etc., to tho next meeting.
