SAILORS' REST.

The concert given last night. in the Sailors' Rest, under the auspices of the Wellington Catholic 'Seamen's Conference, -was as successful as its predecessors. Tho usual large and appreciative audience of seamen attended,. and enjoyed the capital programme submitted. The' following items were contributed:—Miss 'McCarthy,' piano solo; Mr. J. Kearns- (Turakina), song; Miss M. Frith, song; Mr. A. W'Lachlan, recitation; Miss K. Jamieson,' song; Master J. Jamieson, song; Mr. E. E. Pollard, fliite solo; Mr. F. Eller, song; Mr. C. M'Kay, recitation; Mr. J. T. Fitzgerald (Mapourika), song; Miss Bell, song; Mr. F. Hickmott, song; Mr. J.'Sweeney, song; Miss K. Sullivan, song; Mr. Nolan, song; Mr. Conway, Irish comedian song.' Mr. T. Donaldson was a decided success in his popular impersonation of various characters. Messrs. Rose, Ebbershardt, .and Stattler, of the. s.s. Walkure, contributed some excellent musical items, which-we're: much an- ' predated. The accompaniments were' efficiently played by, Misses Frith and M'Carthy.
