Final arrangements were made in connection with the agreement' with the-Australasian Federated Seamen's. Union, by whiohdireot transference of members ~between .the two unions was made possible. ■•■..■■...■.-- t
The secretary (Mr.- D. M'Laren, M.P.) presented y a balance-sheet, which showed a .considerable augmentation of the union funds. A report was also read which stated that' the union had increased both in- numerical strength and: in financial stability. The' committee ' recommeriaeu , strict adherence- to sound principles t -in , order'that-.the' union,might.,continue .to ..prosper..' ~,,,, ■'.•■.';•■.■:.■-■'/"". ' A donation, of five guineas was voted to the Sailors': Best.;,';', J"-' .'■'■'' v ;
.It'[was'. agreed that the election, of ':. officers should.be held ;in the men's waiting room: on the wharf to-niorrow and Thursday. A'resolution was also carried which, made provision for' each section appointing delegates , to. act, on the Management Committee. . . . ■
