Monday night, a fruit-hawker named James Reynolds was charged with unlawfully assault-, ing Frank Johnson. His Worship convicted ' accused, and _fintd him £i, in default one month's imprisonment, ordering him to pay costs, amounting to £3 15s. 6d, £2 of the fiiw to go towards the payment, i INCORRIGIBLE. An old offender, Ada Lister, .■ alias Lester, alias Emily O'Hagan, was charged with being a rogue and vagabond, in that sh« had.insufficient lawful means of support, and had been once previously convicted of being an idle and, disorderly person. His Worship remarked that- accused was apparently incorrigible. She would bo sentenced to six month*" imprisonment, A FAMILY QUARREL. Jessie Humphries charged her husband Geo, Edward Humphries with unlawfully assaulting and beating her on May 27, and sbe aha applied for an order of summary separation and maintenance and custody 6f tho children,: Mr. Wilford appeared in support of the charge and application, which Mr. Peacock opposed. His Worship reserved judgment on the application for a summary separation, but convicted defendant on tbo charge of .assault, and fined him £2, and costs £1 U. OTHER CASES. An old offender, Margaret Webb, wa« sentenced to one month's imprisonment on i charge of loitering and importuning. One first offender for insobriety was con. victcd and discharged, and another fined ,ss, in default 24 hours' imprisonment. A 6Caman named Albert Wra. Lamina* pleaded not guilty to a charge of using obscene, language in a pnblic place,,to wit the Glasgow Wharf. His Worship considered that there was some doubt abont the case, and accused must havo the benefit of the doubt." The charge was, therefore, dismissed. CIVIL BUSttfESS. i (Before Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M.) CLAIM' FOR DAMAGES. Julius Henry Wm. Angerstein and Percival Georgo Jcffery, farmers of Belmont (Mr. Weston), sued W. H.
