'ANNTJAL; MEETING/. ;", : ' ''''■'.': The annual meeting, of the Wellington Rose and Carnation Club was held last evening, Mr. C. W.'Tringham presiding.-'." '.- The annual report/ which was adopted, stated that the/;spring show.in. November last/was one/of the most successful since.the club's in-, ception.- Competition.- was ; keen,'awhile- the general excellence .and the •number,of, blooms were both outstanding., features,' the ' club's funds.benefiting,.td the' extent'of 7s.' 4d. The summer show held, in the Skating Rink was responsible for' a large increase in the list of nniateur' carnation - exhibitors. ■:: 'The - thanks ' of 'the' club ' arej" extended ; to '-'Sir/Joseph and ,Lady •'Ward .'.'for'; the J handsome 'trophy presented to; the plub in; the shape of "The -Prime Minister's Trophy," which •is • again < to ■ be completed -for., this coming: season! .. Special' attention is drawn by/the committee to the appointment of a. lady '■ amongst, the., vicorpresidents at the.,, last \ annual meeting,'',and 'they. especially desiretb thank' Mrs.'■ Tuckey (the. la'dy;vicepresident) ■for' the hearty and continuous as-: sistance she sd readily rendered to-the club. The committee also records its special thanks • to all ,the p judges as also the hon. auditor, My. T. W. Pilcher.as well as-to the donors of special prizes at .'last season's exhibitions,: and. all others who.lent--;-their aid to.'the olub during the season. : '\ : ; The; balance-sheet showed'that the dnb/was in :,■ a. very satisfactory.,financial ' position, the bank balance amounting to M\ Is'.
