The King has granted the Edward Medal to five Europeans and sis native miners, w,ho were antombed for forty hours as the result of p. mad rush in a KimberJey diamond mine.
Tho total number of King Edward's silver medals for polioo'and firemen to be awarded annually will not exceed forty in the United Kingdom, thirty in tho overseas dominions, and fifty in India.
