FIRES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Chrlstcnuroh, July 12. A six-roomed- houße in St Asaph Street, IJinwood, owned by Mr. Robinson, cordial manufacturer, and occupied by Mr. "VV. H. Duncan, was totally destroyed by fire at 2.30 ' o'clock this morning. Mr. Duncan wne alone in the- house at the time, his wire- and family being away. Ho wao aroused by hia nextdoor neighbour, Mrs. Claik, who nas awakened b> the sound of glass breaking. The house occupied by Mrs. Claik was also owned by Mr. Kobinson. It caught flro on the side >nd •in the- roof, and those were badW icoiched. Mrs. Clark's' furtiiUue was all . saved by neighbours Duncan's furniture was insured for £210 in the Atl&i office The house- was also' insured. At α-n early hour this morning a fire broke ' out in Clevoland Street, Brooklyn, in a shop occupied Mr.,' Lambert, and owned by Messrs. Leslie and Co. The Fire Brigadewere quickly on the scene of the outbreak, which,was soon under control, but not before the place was gutted.
