Tho Auckland provincial amateur boxing championships, which commenced on July 3. were concludod yesterday.-' : Tie tournament*. attracted largo attendances, and, the championships resulted as follow:~ ■'■". Bantam-mights (final): E. O'Meara (Auckland) beat- 0. Little (holder). Featherweights; H.M'Ncil beat A. Treziso (Ashburton). Light-weights: L. OR-oss (Auckland) beat It. Craig (Auckland). Middleweights: E. Mauley (late of Diincdin) beat A. Pooley (Auckland). Heavy-weights: T. Pcarco (Auckland) beat S. Moore (Auckland). Tho team to represent Auckland in tho N.Z. championships at Dunedin will compriso to champion of eachf class, and. will leave Auckland in charge of Mr. J. H. Trudgcon i (hon. sccretnry Northern Boxing Association) at tho end of the week. TRACY AND TJNHOLZ. A match between Tim Tracy and a really ' ■finklads man has for some timo : been under consideration by the Wellington Boxing. . Association, and the Australain representative, of the association, Mr. W. F. Corbott ("Amateur" of tho Sydney "Referee"), has at tho request of'to Wellington body been endeavouring to make arrangements foT . a match between Tracy and BUch a boxer at Wellington on August 18. The purse'offered by the association is £100—£75 for the winner and £25 for the loser—each man to receive his expenses. Despite tho fact that this ' stako is one of tho largest, if not the largest, offered for a boxing contest in New Zealand, Mr. Corbott has mot with difficulty in making to suggested arrangements, owing to to fact that certain men suggested had entered into previous engagements. On Saturday, however, ho cabled to to association, stating tot ho had arranged " with R., Unholzj a ' South African boxer visiting Sydney, to meet • Tracy in a fifteen-round contest'on to date and to terms mentioned. As Tracy is willing, it now only remains for to.
