PAKEHA. (l>. The usual ground at Karori .was unavailable owing to its bad state, 60 Karori tried conclusions with Pakeha on. the Campbell Street Gronnd. The game was strenuous, bat the heavy state of the ground made good hockey almost impossible.: Pakeha missed many chanoes through inaccurate shooting and the good defence by Cooper, Karon's, goalkeeper. Needham scored Karon's first goal from a soramble in the circle. No. further scoring took place in the first Spoil. Early in tho eecond term it became evident that Pakeha intended keeping Karori's backs' busy. Although the backs did well, they were unable to.stop Lomax's shot whioh made the scores even. A oonrer hit against Pakeha enabled C. Spiers to find: the net for Karori. There was , no further ecore, although.Pakeha had several chances which were spoilt. Spiers (2), Henderson; and Cooper were the shining lights for the winners, while Hayes, Jackson, Nutter; and MlUdowney were the principals in Pakeha's ranks. Mr. Tayler was referee., .
