GERMANY TO SWEDEN.
TRANS-BALTIC STEAM-RAILWAY FERRY. (By Telceraph—Press Association.—Goprricbt.) - (Rec, July 8, 0.5 a.m.) Berlin, July 7. Tho steam-railway ferry between Sassnitz (in tho island of Rugon, off tho coast of Prussia) and tho Swedish coast town of Trelleburg lias been inaugurated. Tho Kaiser and King Gustav of Sweden attended tho inauguration ceremony. This steam "ferry will form tie sea-link in tho now direct routo from Berlin to Stockholm, tho oapital of Swedcm A NOTABLE ENTERPRISE. Preparations have beijn in. hand for some time for a steam rnilway-fcrry between Sasanitz in the island of Rußon and tho Swedish cwst town of Trelloburg- The Bill for the purpose met with general approval in tho Prussian Chamber on February 18, 1908, and was pareod by tho Swedish Parliament on March 3. Tho distance to bo traversed by goo, is about 65 miles, and there will be at first four epccially-fonj stroctod boats, two of which will bo controlled by onch country. Germany is providing her own vessels, and Sweden, whilst building one of here, let a contract for the other to Messrs. Swan Hunter and Co., "Walker-on-Tyne.
