Thp Senate at Washington, Bitting an a comirlittco of tho whole, paseed the tariff with mi amendment imposing -a duty of two cents a ton in any one year on the tonnnga of all vessels entering tho United States from foreign ports in North and Central America and in certain countries in South America; Also a duty of six cents (not to-oxecod thirty conts per ton per annum) on vessels from all o'thor foreign ports. Those duties eliminate reciprocity in shipping duos.
