'■■ , Sir,—, With your kind permission, kindly al- ■ W;. me space, for-necessary criticism (if unnecessary labours on the part of the Association Selection Committee. As .they ..are all efficient, men in : their positions. I feel.-quite* sorry they cannot trust to their own ability in selecting one and only one team". As only eleven players, with two reserves, axo necessary, should the rejected members bo misled by; such methods ? The Association games are'played on English ruling. Why cannot the representative ■ team, bo. selected on the same ruling? On inquiry concerning tliis foolish idea, a prominent member stated that, if encouraged, the selected 15 to.exert themselves for 'Saturday's game, which simply means the final team is picked on ono day s play. However good a player may bo he has always one day off,'and tiio Saturday coming, may, be the. day,. consequently they cannot understand why they are omitted. Th'o sooner this idea is rectified and worked: on business lines, tho sooner •, will • Association football bo worthy of interest.—l am, 'etc;, '■■ : T '**-- V ; e v, v ' ■■■' :: '' V '*.* V*
