At a meeting of the executive of the NewZealand Athletic Union held : hero it i was agrood to comply with tho request of the West Australian Coastal Athletic League for a reciprocal agreement. v Other Australian leagues are also to bo written-to asking for an agreement .similar to the one now existing between the union and the' Victorian 1 and New South Wales Leagues. The opinion of the centres is to bo obtained regarding tho advisability of handing over control of piping and' dancing to an association just.being formed. The question of the!control of cycling was | disoussoa at considerable length, and it was agroed to moot tho League of "Wbcelmon in coaforenco hore to discuss the position. It is probablo that tho next championship will bo offered; to the West Coast Centre, as PoUding is not prepared to take tho mooting this year. W. G. Callonder (Hawke's Bay) was appointed to tho executive, vice Mr. R. Smitn, resigned. ' In the conrso of an ■ interview, Mr. Woods (president of tho union) expressed his approval of the proposal, to take over the control of cycling, and relinquish that of piping and dancing. He said that there seemed to be "a» fooling aniongst societies that-such a course should be followed. If the. proposals ,vorei carried into effect, there would bo no likelihood'of further friction Buch as had existed since the trouble which commenced at tho time of the exhibition. ;
