ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL.
1 A,protracted meeting.of the' Onslow* Borough ' Councilwas held.last'evening. ' Present:—Mr. • J. G. Harkness (Mayor), and OpnqeiUors Plim- ■ mer, Stafford, Aplin, Bannister, Ferguson, pargal, Carver, Kiernan, and Lynneberg. Proceedings were in committee until- after 10 ; o'clock, the estimates for the year .being 1 disoiisscd. On. the recommendation ;of the Mayor, it. was • decided to give'the estimates ' further consideration at a-meeting to be held 1 next. Wednesday. '• | Mr. F. Richardson.wasgranted^permission to quarry stone on .the road near Kaiwarra. • 1 The engineer reported that ten building per- : mits had been-issued (hiring th? past fire 1 weeks, in respect of buildings, valued at, <£3620. The council resolved to pay for . ten main vents in "connection with the Kaiwarra -drainage scheme, out. of' capital .'cost.. ' General accounts amounting to JG223 6s. 7d., and accounts totalling wGIS 16s. 9d., in connection with the Kaiwarra drainage scheme, were passed for payment.
