SIR JOSEPH WARD AND THE CONFERENCE.
; Sir,—Having read your numerous correspondents' letters against' tho visit of., the Prime Minister (Sir J. G. Ward), to Loudon to attend the Naval Conference, allow me to endorse • itboir. sentiiiients,' 'and to make a further protest. As tho Primo" Minister and his staff are so : busy attending 1 to the affairs of this Dominion,, and if the affairs of tihis Dominion, aro'so great-a tax on him and .'his staff, it would 'bo a 'shame to add extra; duties, to his already much-taxed brain. I. had to wait three weeks before I could get a letter of introduction to him, and now I have waited over four weeks, and written three letters, and still no reply. 'I always thought that out of courtesy a reply should 'bo sent. , If Mr. Hall-Jones, present High Commissioner, with his. recent ■ knowledge of New Zealand, is . not capable to, represent' tho Dominion', at the Naval Conference, with him Mr. \V. P. Reeves, who, I understand, draws a sum from tho Dominion, as adviser to the New Zealand Government, with Sir Robert Stout also in London, and Colonel Da vies now on the high, soas for London, this Dominion should have ample representatives without Sir Joseph. It is simply , a farce, for Sir Joseph to go Homo, to leave tho affairs of the Dominion in their present state, with so many people out of employment, wanting food and shelter. ';Let Sir Joseph attend to our : urgent needs of the peoplo of this Dominion, by giving them employment, by so doing giving them something to eat, and clothes to wear, and when tho foreign foe comes wo will be able to do battle. —I am, etc., FATHER OF SIX OUT OF EMPLOYMENT. ' Juno 6. \
