A deputation from tlio Chamber of Commerce waited on Dr. Findlay, Attorney-Gon-oral, this morning regarding the bankruptcy laws.' It was urged that it would bo a retrograde stop to allow the Public Trustee and his officers to be utilised as official, assignees. The doputation also suggested tho appointment of approved and registered trade assignees. Dr. Findlay replied that the Prime Minister had not made a definite statement of intention, but only of opinions. Ho thought economy would bo effected by abolishing independent official assignees and doing tho work through tho Public Trust Office What tho deputation had urged would receive tho consideration of Cabinet.
