Thomas) has agreed to Canada's suggestion to renow tho Vancouver service for another year. He states that tho shortness of the renewal does not permit of any improvements in the . service. ■ [It has been pointed out on behalf of'tho Union Company that a yearly tenure of tho existing contract docs not offer any inducement for further improvements of the service.
