The surrounding treatment of the laco yoko, front, or "guimpe," which is tho inevitable finish of gowns of all kinds, is a marked feature in these days, when trimming is but scantily used. Tho points are not placed across tho shoulders, as that would destroy the flat shoulder effect, but they almost reach to under the arm, and so give a Blightly short-waisted appearance, which is very picturesquq, and suitable to medium figures.
