Tho settlement embodied in a.memor'andum wlijch both parties have asked the Federal Arbitration Court'to treat as an-award of the Cpurt, The settlement provides that wages shall be paid to engineers, according to the. horsc-powor of' steamers, on the •following scale:— . The agreement, whioh is to havefproe for three years from May 1, is. stated to be practically the same as that: under whjch ■ tjie eftgiiieers have beep wprking for years, excepting thp conditions regarding wages. The President'of the Arbitration Court has agreed.to certify the agreement sp as praptically to giye jt.the game effect as an award of. the Court. Hβ will submit his order for the consideration of the parties interested pn Friday, '. ' !
