Thousands of women and children aro clamouring' for' bread.". ■ Tho British rosidents havo cabled to Sir "Edward Grey, Secrotary of State for Foreign Affairs:— ':Wo aro in imminent danger of attack, and owing to our desperate'•situation it Is impossible to leave. Tho consular guard is inadequate to protect us," ARMISTICE BRINGS RELIEF. .MISSIONARY KILLED. (Rcc. April 21, 11.55 p.m.) Teheran, April 21. In consequence of British aud Russian representations, tho Shah has granted a week's armistice at Tabriz, in order to prevent, tho' hungor-stricken elements from attacking tho consulates. The armistice has had such' a good effect locally that an ordor given at Sir Edward Grey's instanco for a Russian force to occupy Tabriz lias been suspended.
Mr. Baskerville, an American. missionary, was.previously killed in a Nationalist sortie to. seize : the enemy's bread. .-.'.
