PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Half an hour elapsed while tho Town Clerk of Petono searched for another councillor last evening, and at 8.30 it was decided to adjourn the meeting for twenty-four hours. A number of councillors wrote asking for leavo of absence for various reasons, and the only onus who took theii-seats were the Mayor (Mr. J W. JPEwan), and Councillors Short, and Harding.
