Tho shooting for the Prineo .of Wales' Cup, in connection with the Schools of the Empire competition, showed a marked improvement all round. LAWRENCE MILITARY ASYLUM. The Lawrence Military Asylum, is a largo orphanage founded in memory of Sir Henry Lawrence, and is located at Lovedale, about three miies from Ootacamund, on the Nijghiri Hills. There would be between 400 and 500 orphan lads attending this school, rind military drill and rille shooting are. given great attention. The school furnishes the crack company of the Nilghiri Volunteer Regiment. The school was opened in the 'sixties. This is the fifth year of. the Schools- of Empire match. Last year it was won by the Brisbane Grammar School, which nlso won it in the first year. The leading scorers last year were: Brisbane Grammar School 490 Grcsham School, England dSS
