Nominations for seats on the City Council, however, do not closo until Wednesday, April 21, this clay week, so thero is ample timo for prospective aspirants for offico to como to a decision upon the question. Fifteen councillors will have to be elected, and the number of candidates already announced is 27. At the election of 1007, 36 candidates contested the election. Nominations for the Mayoralty also close on April 21.

In response to a deputation which waited upon him recently, Mr. IV. Kellow has consented to contest the Mayoralty of Karori at the coming elections.
