Basin Reserve watching tho ithletic sports. .The tennis matches ( were played at. tho courts off Willis Street, and'the players were entertained at morning .tea by iiiss Fruhaiif,, whoso homo is near by. . The npekey match between Canterbury, and Victoria College girls was played-at tho Athletic Park, whore the local.team, wore easy! victors, ivinnino; ■ by ten points to nil. ■ Tho Canterbury team had several good players, and their goalkeeper- did excellent .work, but : they were ranting in combination. Tho Victoria College team is specially to be congratulated on the brilliant work of its forwards. To-day, Viicoria. College women students play the team, which is said to be a , very strong me. Great regret has been expressed that fVucklarid College' did not send a hockey team. They used to have a very good one, but interest in it lapsed, and it has been disbanded.
