A meeting of tho New Zealand Educational Institute executive body was held in tho Education Board Buildings, on Saturday, when there were present: Messrs. G. M T . C. Macclonald (president), Dunedin) j Thomas Hughes B.A. (trenstircr), Cliristchiirch; Wm. Davidson (Diinedin); G W. Erskino of Wellington) wns set up to consider matters connected with the finances of tho institute and deal with tho investment of the funds Another sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Macdoimld, Davidson, Hughes, ;i.ac.Worrni\ Uuighey, and Foster, was set up to co ider details connected with the establishment and ninintciinnco of a sick benefit fund. The committee will report to the executive, and prepare a remit on the .subject for submission to the next annual meeting of the institute, tt-hick will take place in Wellington.
