TROOPS V. STRIKERS.
CONFLICT IN FRANCE. MANUFACTURERS' HOUSES RAIDED. OCCUPANTS FLEE. (ill- TELEOKAI'II—I'ItESS ASSOCIATION—COI'UUfiIIT.) (Hcc. April 12, 10.5 p.m.) Pans, April 12. Twelve thousand button-makers have struck at Meru (department Oise, about fifteen miles from Ueauvais), demanding a uniform wage. Six hundred of tho strikers attacked and wrecked two factories, and stormed tho manufacturers' dvcllinghouses. One owner, with his wifo and servants, fled in their night attire, by a back door. Next morning 2CO dragoons had serious conflicts with the strikers. Several of the troops were wounded with . stones. A thousand cavalry have been sent to Mcru.
