OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION. Tho Very Rev. Father A. Keogh, S.M., presided at tho annual meeting of tho St. Patrick's College Old Boys' Association held at St. Patrick's Hall last evening. "About 50 members wero present. The meeting commenced with , a lively discussion as to whether now members could bo elected at a general meeting. Finally, Mr. Crombie proposed that tho general meeting be given power to elect new members, and that tho rulo regarding tho election of members bo set aside. After a warm discussion, Mr. Ward moved as an adjournment that tho meeting adjourn for ten minutes in order that tho committee could moot, and elect new members. Mr. Casey argjued that the committee could not meet aftor tho general meeting had commenced—after the chairman had taken his seat. Tho amendment was defeated. A long discussion ensued Tvithout matters getting much nearer finality. Eventually, however, the chairman ruled that tho meeting proceed .without going any further in tho matter. There was another lively discussion on a proposal to pay a debt of £7 16s. 9d., standing in, tho name of tho association's cricket club. It was proposed, on the amendment of Mr. Crombie, that the matter bo left to tho consideration of the incoming committee. This was defeated, and a motion that the association foot tho bill was carried. Further debate arose over a paragraph intho annual report referring to the "Blue and White," tho St.- Patrick's College publication, and pros and cons were thrown back and , forward for another twenty minutes. This was followed by a proposal to pass a vote of censure on tho committee, which proposal, however, was thrown out on tho vote. A member drjw attention to tho fact that Mr. Crombie, who had been elected at the last annual meeting, had been suspended by the committee, and that no mention had been made of, this suspension in the annual report. The matter was explained by the hon. secretary pro. tern. (Mr. W. E. Butler), and Mr. Crombie made a lengthy explanation of his actions in respect 'to a cortain presentation proposed to be mado to the Very Rev. Father Keogh on tho attainment of his jubilee. After a mass of correspondence had been read, and a long and acrimonious discussion had taken place, the Rev. Father Gilbert moved that the meeting approve the action of the committee in ■asking the secretary (Mr. Crombie) to resign. This was negatived by 20 votes to 15, the members of the committee voting with the "noes." The following officers were elected: President, the Very Rev. Father Keogh; vicepresidents, Messrs. W. E. Butler, A. H. Casey, R. W. Collins (Wellington), G. H. Harper (Otaki), W. E. Fallon (Auckland), Dr. A: O'Brien (Christchurch); secretary, Mr. J. E. Butler; treasurer, Mr. J. Finlay; committee, Messrs B. J. Devine, A. Fay, S. J.. Moran, B. Gallagher, S. Ryan, F. E. Kelly; hon. auditor, Mr. W. R.;S. Hickson.
